Harassment Prevention, Sensitivity and Correction Training
For Construction Workers and Supervisors

Created exclusively for the construction industry, Diversity Rules is one DVD with two training videos, each designed to aid construction employers with harassment prevention, sensitivity and correction training. Short enough to be presented during an on-the-job toolbox session, the video for workers includes 7 video vignettes that address issues such as sexual harassment (including sexual orientation and transgender status), age harassment, gender harassment (including family responsibilities), racial harassment and religious harassment. The video for supervisors includes all of the scenarios in the worker video, plus three additional videos that show supervisors how to handle tough conversations with workers about harassment and how to avoid inadvertently discriminating against workers.
Both videos discuss the laws that protect workers from harassment and discrimination, how harassment and discrimination can affect the workplace, and various ways that harassment and discrimination can occur, including references to social media and texting.

As part of its commitment to “build community,” Plano-Coudon Construction hosted its 2nd Annual Golf Classic, raising $35,000 for Teach for America - Baltimore.
The Sept. 15 fundraiser at Hayfields Country Club attracted a sold-out crowd of 128 golfers as well as key sponsorship support from numerous area companies, including: K.C. Company – Pella Windows and Doors, HMS Insurance Associates, Zurich, PNC Financial Services Group, NetQuest, Asbestos Specialists Inc., Wells Fargo Advisors, and Emjay Engineering & Commercial Contractors.
“We are honored to do this to support an organization that places really savvy, highly educated, dynamic teachers in underprivileged areas and has tremendous impact on the lives of a lot of kids,” said Brett Plano, co-owner and founder. “We are also delighted that the Plano-Coudon Construction Golf Classic helps create awareness of Teach for America.”
Plano-Coudon Construction – a Baltimore City-based company with extensive experience in education construction – committed to providing significant, ongoing support to Teach For America a few years ago as part of its community service action plan. In addition to organizing the annual Golf Classic, the Baltimore City-based construction company gives employees one paid leave day annually to volunteer with a nonprofit of their choosing and a $100 donation for that charity.
“Many of our employees have been choosing to support Teach For America, and they support it in different ways,” Plano said.
In addition to spending time in the classroom, Plano-Coudon has donated construction services and materials to complete repairs at some area schools.
